    Why rent agreements are only for 11 months?

      Sir has already discussed law with you. actually every year the rent is changed by the landlord so they have to make a new agreement stating the new rent.

      The section 17 of Registration Act provides leases of immovable property from year to year, or for any term exceeding one year, or reserving a yearly rent; months requires compulsory Registration. However, a lease agreement of 11 months does not require compulsory Registration which makes the process quick and easy. That is why it has become a standard process to make a rent agreement(s) for 11 months.
