I lent a substantial amount of money to a friend based on a written agreement that stated the amount would be repaid within six months. The repayment deadline has now passed, but the borrower has not returned the money despite several reminders and assurances.
I have bank transaction records showing the transfer of the money, as well as messages in which the borrower acknowledges receiving the amount and promises to repay it. I would like to understand what legal options are available to recover the money, whether I should send a formal legal notice first, and what documents or evidence would be required if I decide to pursue legal proceedings.
