    PREAMBLE

    Preamble

    (Act No. 56 of 1980)

    An Act to make provision for the regulation and development of the profession of Company Secretaries.

    Comment: The Act seeks to provide a benchmark for the qualifications and training required of company secretaries in view of their varied responsibilities.

    Be it enacted by Parliament in the Thirty-first Year of the Republic of India as follows :-
