      there are two ways to get a marriage annulled. first under section 11 of hindu marriage act in case of void marriage. if marriage is annulled under this section it means there was no valid marriage from ab intio. 

      the second way is to get a voidable marriage annulled under section 12 of hindu marriage act.

      If the court grants annulment of the marriage, it means the marriage was invalid and illegal, as if no marriage has taken place in the eyes of law, and in that case, no divorce is required.
